I'm currently working on an indie video game called Project Mamba Mover, a top down 3D snake game. Time for a developer update!
Concept & Design
The concept in itself is pretty simple and may be familiar to most as the 'old Nokia snake game', but it's in fact based on an old MS-DOS game I used to play a lot in the early 90's as a kid. The game was simply titled 'Mamba', programmed by Bert Uffen and was released in 1989. You can check his game out here. It differs from the Nokia Snake game version because it contains a couple of original gameplay elements similar to what I'm designing. In my game, each time the snake eats a fruit it gets longer, so far it follows the same concept as the Nokia snake game, but then at some point you can bump into an Ice Crystal that freezes the last part the snake tail and only leaves the snake with the initial 'blocks' on its body. Then some of the frozen blocks turn into gems that the player can then obtain to score extra points!

Then, at some point there's a Fire Power up that can destroy the ice blocks, so the playing board gets cleared up again. The difficulty lies in the fact that the snake will move faster and faster! If you touch the wall it's game over! However, you can touch your own body, but only 2 times before it ends the game.
In the near future I'm planning to release some videos on the site (or YouTube) that shows you the gameplay!
